About the role#
UC Health is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Intern for the Specialty Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. This role offers a learning environment that integrates operational and clinical opportunities for professional development. The position requires 20 hours per week during the first shift with no on-call requirements.
What you'll do#
- Provide support to pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists, and pharmacy leadership in all aspects of pharmacy services.
- Assist with interdisciplinary patient care rounds, admission medication history, medication counseling, patient education, and drug information.
- Support the Drug Policy Development Committee by maintaining records of actions, developing new drug memos, and updating formulary support tools.
- Conduct medication use evaluations and assess compliance with the health-system formulary.
- Assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of patients, including drug dosing, preparation, distribution, and administration as allowed by law.
- Participate in orientation, education, and training programs, and attend pharmacy staff meetings.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in or acceptance to an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current pharmacy intern registration recognized by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
- 0-6 months of equivalent experience is required; 1-2 years of equivalent experience is preferred.
- Ability to work accurately with attention to detail, manage frequent interruptions, and adapt to changing workloads.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.

- Compensation: $19.00 - $24.01 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
