About the role#
UC Health is hiring a PRN Pharmacy Intern for the Inpatient Pharmacy at West Chester Hospital. This position offers a learning environment that balances operational and clinical opportunities. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support pharmacy services and clinical care teams. There are no on-call requirements for this role.
What you'll do#
- Provide support to pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists, and pharmacy leadership.
- Participate in interdisciplinary patient care rounds and conduct admission medication histories.
- Perform medication counseling, patient education, drug information, dosing, preparation, distribution, and administration tasks.
- Support the Drug Policy Development Committee by maintaining records, developing New Drug Memos, and updating therapeutic guidelines.
- Tabulate formulary changes and develop communications regarding policy updates or drug shortages.
- Assess medication use, conduct evaluations, and support the enhancement of pharmacy technology.
- Attend staff meetings and complete all required competence and skills assessments.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Acceptance to or enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current pharmacy intern registration recognized by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
- 0-6 months of equivalent experience.
- Ability to work accurately with attention to detail and handle frequent interruptions.
- Capacity to set priorities, solve problems, and respond quickly to emergency requests.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff.

- Salary: $19.96 to $27.86 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
