About the role#
The Outpatient Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center is hiring a part-time Pharmacy Intern. This role supports pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists, and pharmacy leadership in delivering pharmacy services. You will work in a learning environment that incorporates both operational and clinical opportunities with no on-call requirements.
What you'll do#
- Assist with medication counseling and patient education under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Support drug information services, including developing responses to requests and providing notices regarding drug shortages.
- Conduct medication use evaluations and assess compliance with the health-system formulary.
- Provide support for the Drug Policy Development Committee, including maintaining records of actions and developing memos for new drugs.
- Update and format approved guidelines, therapeutic interchanges, and formulary support tools.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and competency assessments.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in or acceptance to an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Valid pharmacy intern registration recognized by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
- 0-6 months of equivalent experience.
- Ability to perform tasks accurately with attention to detail.
- Capacity to adapt to changes in workload, set priorities, and solve problems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

- Location: UC Medical Center, Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Shift: First Shift.
- Hours: PRN (part-time).
- Salary: $19.96 to $27.86 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
