About the role#
This position is for foreign-trained pharmacy graduates looking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and experience needed to practice in the United States. The program requires you to finish your internship hours within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in Texas within 120 days of completing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe, effective pharmacy environment while maintaining regulatory and quality standards.
- Complete a mixed-modality learning plan to develop your professional skills.
- Manage daily pharmacy workflow, process prescriptions, and resolve third-party rejections.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and assist with their pharmacy needs.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the supervising pharmacist in dispensing medications and monitoring compliance.
- Maintain in-stock inventory and help lead or develop pharmacy support staff.
- Deliver additional health care services as permitted by state law.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in Texas.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Commitment to completing all required training and licensure processes.
