About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care in the Emergency Department under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning and assisting with essential care tasks to help maintain a safe and organized environment for patients.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, such as monitoring vital signs and assisting with hygiene.
- Communicate clearly with the care team during handoffs and shift reports.
- Develop your clinical skills by asking questions and seeking feedback from experienced staff.
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure patient care equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
- Perform hourly rounding to interact with patients and families.
- Document tasks and observations accurately according to facility standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- CPR certification from the AHA, ARC, or ASHI.
- A Fingerprint Clearance Card for Skilled Nursing.
