About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration with the healthcare team. You will provide safe and organized care to help patients and assist with essential daily tasks.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care including vital sign monitoring, hygiene assistance, and comfort measures.
- Communicate with the care team during handoffs and bedside shift reports.
- Develop clinical skills by seeking feedback and applying practices under the guidance of an RN.
- Maintain a clean work environment and assist with basic equipment maintenance for items like glucometers and scales.
- Perform hourly rounding to build relationships with patients.
- Document tasks and observations accurately and on time.
- Uphold service standards for patients, families, and staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Basic understanding of patient care procedures and medical terminology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe patient care environment.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety for skilled nursing.
