About the role#
St. Luke's University Health Network offers internship programs designed to prepare nurses for clinical practice. These programs support the transition from a student or novice nurse to a confident practitioner through education, hands-on training, and clinical preceptorship. Interns work with a dedicated education team to develop clinical competence and gain experience in their chosen specialty.
What you'll do#
- Provide nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the effects of care.
- Work cooperatively with nursing staff, ancillary personnel, and other members of the patient care team.
- Maintain confidentiality of all materials and follow proper protocols for the release of information.
- Model the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in all interactions.
- Demonstrate competency in patient assessment, treatment planning, and communication appropriate to the age of the patient.
- Comply with all departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a nursing program with a prospective graduation date, or status as an experienced Registered Nurse with less than one year of experience in the specialty.
- Eligibility to sit for the NCLEX and obtain licensure before the start of the internship.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
- Current BLS certification.
- For critical care or Emergency Department tracks, a minimum 3.2 overall GPA or a confirmed Senior Practicum in the respective specialty is required.
