About the role#
This full-time, paid internship program prepares nurses for work in the Emergency Department. The program supports the transition from a novice to an advanced beginner through a competency-based curriculum. Interns participate in seminars, workshops, simulation training, and clinical observations under the supervision of an education team. Upon successful completion, you will practice in a St. Luke's Emergency Department, providing care to patients across all stages of life.
What you'll do#
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Document the effects of care and coordinate with ancillary and patient-team personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality of all network materials and information.
- Model the network's service excellence standards in all interactions.
- Demonstrate clinical competency in age-appropriate assessment, treatment, and communication.
- Comply with all departmental policies regarding attendance and professional dress.
What you'll need#
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, or eligibility to sit for the NCLEX and obtain licensure before the start date.
- Nursing students with prospective graduation dates or experienced RNs looking to transition into the Emergency Department.
- Experience in an Emergency Department or prehospital care, or currently completing a senior practicum in an Emergency Department.
- A minimum 3.2 GPA.
- Current BLS certification.
