About the role#

St. Luke's University Health Network offers clinical rotation opportunities for nursing students. This role provides an opportunity to assist in delivering goal-directed, individualized patient care while working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.

What you'll do#

• Assist in providing individualized patient care based on the nursing process and care plan.
• Perform physical assessments of patients.
• Prepare and administer medications under the direct supervision of an RN.
• Document patient information in medical records.
• Provide basic patient care, patient education, and support discharge planning.
• Prepare patients for transport to other departments and assist with discharge.
• Interact with healthcare providers regarding patient conditions.
• Maintain professional behavior and composure in all interactions with patients, families, and staff.
• Give and receive verbal reports on patients at the start and end of each clinical experience.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a nursing program.
• Completion of all required orientation materials and specific program requirements.
• Documentation of necessary criminal background checks and health history clearances, as verified by your school.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for up to 10 hours, walking for 6 hours, and lifting or pushing objects up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to transport patients weighing up to 500 lbs via wheelchair, bed, or stretcher.
• Ability to meet sensory requirements, including hearing, vision, and touch, to perform clinical duties.
