About the role#
This is a paid, full-time nursing student position at St. Luke's University Health Network. The role involves clinical rotations where students assist in providing individualized patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
What you'll do#
- Assist in providing goal-directed patient care using the nursing process and care plans.
- Perform physical assessments of patients.
- Prepare and administer medications under the direct supervision of an RN.
- Document patient information in medical records.
- Maintain professional behavior in all interactions with patients, families, and staff.
- Prepare patients for transport, testing, and discharge.
- Provide basic patient care and individual patient education.
- Communicate with providers regarding patient conditions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a nursing program.
- Completion of all required orientation materials and school-specific requirements.
- Documentation of criminal background check and health history clearances.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for up to 10 hours, walking for 6 hours, and lifting or pushing objects up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to transport patients weighing up to 500 lbs via wheelchair, bed, or stretcher.
