Graduate Nurse and Registered Nurse Critical Care Internship/Fellowship (Opportunities at Multiple Campuses) Fall 2026 Cohort

About the role#

St. Luke's University Health Network is offering a full-time Critical Care Internship/Fellowship for the Fall 2026 cohort. This competency-based program is designed to bridge the gap between academic preparation and professional practice. Participants will engage in a progressive series of seminars, workshops, simulation training, and clinical observations under the guidance of a dedicated education team and clinical preceptors. The program focuses on cultivating leadership, team building, and conflict management skills, while providing essential certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and AACN-aligned critical care modules.

What you'll do#

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including ancillary and nursing personnel, to uphold professional practice standards.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information and network materials.
• Model service excellence standards in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Adhere to all departmental and network policies regarding attendance and professional conduct.
• Demonstrate clinical competency in patient assessment and treatment appropriate to the patient's age and developmental stage.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a nursing student with a prospective graduation date (Spring, Summer, or Winter) and eligibility to sit for the NCLEX prior to the start of the internship.
• A minimum 3.2 overall GPA at the time of application, or a confirmed Senior Practicum in an ICU.
• Experienced Registered Nurses who have not previously worked in a critical care setting are also eligible to apply.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing for up to 10 hours, lifting up to 75 lbs, and transporting patients weighing up to 500 lbs.
