About the role#
The Nurse Extern in Labor and Delivery provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will support patients throughout the lifecycle by performing treatments and using medical equipment that align with hospital policy for pre-licensure nurses.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
- Apply treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate for your level of training in a clinical setting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
- Successful completion of your first Med/Surg rotation.
- BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.
- Preferred, but not required: Certification as a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, phlebotomist, or ECG technician.
