About the role#
St. Luke's University Health Network offers internship opportunities for nursing students and early-career Registered Nurses. These programs provide clinical education, hands-on training, and mentorship to help nurses transition into their professional practice. Interns work alongside experienced staff to develop the competence and confidence needed for positive patient outcomes.
What you'll do#
- Provide nursing care to patients throughout the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Document the effects of care and coordinate with the broader patient-care team.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information properly.
- Adhere to network standards for performance, attendance, and dress code.
- Demonstrate clinical competency in treatment and communication tailored to the age of the patient.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a nursing program with a prospective Spring, Summer, or Winter graduation date, or status as an RN with less than one year of experience in the specialty.
- Eligibility to sit for the NCLEX and obtain licensure before the internship start date.
- A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey.
- Current BLS certification.
- For Critical Care positions: A minimum 3.2 overall GPA or a confirmed Senior Practicum in an ICU.
- For Emergency Department positions: A minimum 3.2 overall GPA, a confirmed Senior Practicum in an Emergency Department, or prior experience in an Emergency Department or prehospital care (EMS).
