About the role#
Hardin Medical Center is hiring a Student Nurse Extern to join our team in Savannah, Tennessee. This is a paid, non-exempt, PRN position. Please note that this program requires a one-year employment contract upon completion of your nursing licensure.
What you'll do#
As a Student Nurse Extern, you will assist with direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of our nursing staff. Your daily tasks include:
- Providing personal hygiene care, such as baths, shaves, and assisting with bedpans.
- Helping with daily living activities like feeding, ambulating, and positioning patients.
- Assisting nurses with procedures including non-sterile dressings and enemas.
- Monitoring patient conditions and reporting changes to the nursing team.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- The ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
- Comfort working in a clinical environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases.
