About the role#
Kroger is hiring a Pharmacy Intern for our location in Surprise, Arizona. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term. You will work on-site to assist the pharmacy team in daily operations, customer service, and clinical support.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for fill or refill requests.
- Dispense the correct medication and bag prescriptions for delivery to customers.
- Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Contact prescribers for authorization and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
- Maintain the pharmacy department, including stocking incoming orders and returning unused stock bottles.
- Support customers, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
- Follow all safety protocols and report any incidents, accidents, or security concerns to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively and manage conflict in a professional manner.
- Commitment to maintaining honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
