About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment. You will assist in managing patient care programs and contribute to the daily operations of the pharmacy team. This role is a part-time, paid position based in Asheboro, North Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Manage patient care programs to help customers and patients maintain their health.
- Display empathy and compassion for patients, customers, and colleagues.
- Facilitate a team culture that promotes caring, energy, enthusiasm, and pride.
- Align team members around the goal of improving health care.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy professional practice and regulatory requirements.
- Perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, and using finger dexterity for typing and handling items.
- Strive to provide patient immunizations once state regulations are met.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to complete all required training within state guidelines and the required timeframe.
- Availability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
