About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic knowledge into a real-world clinical setting. This program is designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist by immersing you in retail pharmacy operations, patient safety protocols, and quality assurance. You will work under the guidance of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy operations to ensure prescriptions are filled accurately and promptly.
- Follow standard operating procedures across all pharmacy workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide patient care by offering immunizations, fielding medical questions, and assisting with medication history, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts, returns, and medication deliveries.
- Demonstrate empathy and contribute to an inclusive team environment while providing consistent, high-quality service to patients.
- Communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes as permitted by state regulation.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members as your experience grows.
What you'll need#
- Must be a PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the training program.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks such as typing or reaching.
- Strong communication skills, mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations, and the ability to pivot between tasks in a busy environment.
- Willingness to travel to various store locations within the market as needed by the business.
