Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic learning from pharmacy school to real-world practice to prepare for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. You will work within retail locations to support pharmacy operations, deepen your understanding of patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards, and develop your skills in preparation for increasing responsibility.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures across workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification.
• Complete basic inventory activities, including putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stock.
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, including those regarding controlled substance dispensing and patient privacy.
• Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and solicit medical history information under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe per state guidelines.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and remain mobile for extended periods.
