About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Northwell Health, you will work under the immediate supervision of a registered Pharmacist. You will perform administrative tasks and assist in pharmacy operations to support patient care.
What you'll do#
- Prepare medications for inpatient orders and outpatient prescriptions, including typing labels.
- Help provide drug information to patients, Physicians, Nurses, and Pharmacists.
- Assist with the preparation and labeling of compounded sterile applications.
- Conduct monthly medication room inspections, return unused drugs, and remove recalled or outdated items.
- Maintain control records for manufactured items and prepare reports for the Pharmacist.
- Replenish pharmacy and floor stock while performing inventory checks.
- Verify invoices against received drug shipments and ensure proper storage of medications.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A current permit to practice as a Pharmacy Intern in New York State.
- Specialized certifications as required.
- Zero to one years of relevant experience.
