About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by providing hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations. You will assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and patients receive accurate, timely care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and participate in key learning experiences.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing compassionate care.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns, and putting away deliveries.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permissible.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by the state.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to focus on detail-oriented tasks.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, reach, and lift up to 20 lbs.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings (preferred).
- Ability to become immunization certified (preferred).
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations in the market (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (preferred).

- Compensation: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour.
