About the role#
This internship is designed for foreign-trained pharmacy graduates seeking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to develop your clinical skills, practice management abilities, and leadership experience. The program requires the completion of internship hours within 18 months, with the goal of preparing you to pass all required pharmacist licensure exams within 120 days of completing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Assist all pharmacy and front store customers with their questions and concerns.
- Maintain customer and patient confidentiality according to HIPAA and company standards.
- Adhere to CVS workflow and ensure standards are maintained at all times.
- Process prescriptions, including translation of SIG codes, product selection, and labeling.
- Resolve third-party rejections and perform prescription pick-up procedures.
- Support the supervising pharmacist in dispensing drugs and monitoring compliance.
- Offer to counsel customers and direct them to the pharmacist when necessary.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and assist with putting away drug orders.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing pharmacy support staff.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Must be a foreign graduate from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy prior to beginning the training program.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
