About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic knowledge to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role focuses on developing your professional skills through a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences and operational oversight. You will gain exposure to store, district, and regional pharmacy operations while working to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and participate in assigned activities to build clinical and operational aptitude.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including prescription fulfillment at various workstations like production, pick-up, and drive-thru.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, fielding medical questions, and soliciting patient medical history.
- Educate patients on the importance of vaccines and, where permissible, support immunization services including preparation and administration.
- Maintain pharmacy safety and compliance by following Standard Operating Procedures, managing inventory, and protecting patient privacy.
- Communicate effectively with patients and prescribers, including taking telephonic prescriptions and clarifying medication details.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or active progress toward, valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to complete all required training programs within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly to meet patient needs.
- A customer-service mindset with the ability to actively assist others and respond appropriately to patient reactions.
- Capability to perform physical requirements, including standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.

- Schedule: Part-time, with availability for nights and weekends required.
