About the role#
Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center is hiring an intern to support our Health Information Management department. You will gain practical experience in medical record processing, document management, and chart maintenance. This role requires strict adherence to HIPAA and organizational confidentiality policies.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, scan, and index documents into our electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Perform quality assurance checks on scanned files to verify image clarity, completeness, and patient identification.
- Update and maintain the provider database, including demographic changes and physician number assignments.
- Assist with the purging, retention, and secure storage of medical records according to regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited associate or bachelor degree program in Health Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related healthcare field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with standard office equipment.
- A detail-oriented approach with the ability to think critically and solve problems.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Fairlawn, Ohio.
- The role is on-site.
- This is a paid internship with a rolling term.
- You must be available for a minimum of 24 hours per month during standard business hours, Monday through Friday.
