Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy school learning into real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience with pharmacy operations and store, district, and regional workflows. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care during interactions.
• Support immunization services, including educating patients on the importance of vaccines and assisting with administration where permitted by law and training.
• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on key learning experiences to build clinical and technical aptitude.

What you'll need#

• Must be accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
• Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
• Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
• Commitment to regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
• Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
