Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to provide hands-on experience in pharmacy operations. This role focuses on developing your skills to prepare for future responsibilities as a pharmacist while supporting the pharmacy team in delivering safe and accurate patient care.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
• Follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs) at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all patient interactions, whether in person or over the phone.
• Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic staffing where allowable by law.
• Participate in inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and managing medication deliveries.
• Communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes as permitted by regulation.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Strong focus and the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
• Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market to meet business needs.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
