Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), designed to prepare you for the responsibilities of a Pharmacist. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring patient safety, and developing clinical and technical skills.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
• Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, providing compassionate care, and solving patient problems.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, pharmacy standards, and privacy regulations.
• Participate in clinical services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law and supported by required training.
• Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Possession of, or the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Proficiency in mathematical reasoning to solve prescription-related problems, such as calculating dosages and day supplies.
• Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy with high attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.

• Schedule: Part-time, with the ability to work nights and weekends.
