About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role focuses on developing your skills in preparation for a future Pharmacist position. You will gain hands-on experience through a comprehensive training roadmap that includes Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) and exposure to store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and safely.
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to help manage patient health.
- Support pharmacy workflow procedures, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and pharmacy standards.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within the designated timeframe.
What you'll need#
- Must be accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Must possess or be in the process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure.
- Ability to use math to solve problems related to prescriptions, such as calculating dosages and day supplies.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
