About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for a future role as a pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to gain hands-on experience through a structured training roadmap. This program focuses on store, district, and regional operations, helping you build the clinical and technical skills necessary for pharmacy practice.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on key learning experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations and accurate, prompt prescription fulfillment.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the direction of a licensed pharmacist.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Operate across various pharmacy workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to perform mathematical calculations related to prescription dispensing.
