About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to provide hands-on experience in pharmacy operations. Under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, you will gain exposure to store, district, and regional functions while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a training roadmap focusing on key learning experiences and pharmacy activities.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations to ensure accurate and prompt prescription fulfillment.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and providing compassionate service.
- Follow all company standard operating procedures and comply with federal, state, and local laws.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment while collaborating with your pharmacy team.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or the process of obtaining, a valid intern or technician license.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Flexibility to pivot between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- A strong customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
