About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to deliver safe, accurate, and compassionate patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including key learning experiences and activities.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth daily operations and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Follow all company standard operating procedures at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by providing empathetic service and addressing patient needs.
- Maintain high self-awareness and provide coaching, training, and mentoring to team members.
- Perform inventory activities, such as cycle counts and managing medication deliveries.
- Support immunization services and patient education as permitted by law and training.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods and pivot quickly between responsibilities.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Mathematical reasoning skills for tasks such as calculating dosages and day supplies.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and remain mobile for extended periods.
