About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy operations, developing professional skills, and preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist on duty.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences and store operations.
- Maintain compliance with all company standard operating procedures, federal laws, and state regulations.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or progress toward obtaining, a valid intern or technician license as required by state regulations.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Capacity to concentrate on tasks over extended periods and pivot between responsibilities quickly.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
