About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic training to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations and patient care. This role focuses on developing your clinical and technical skills through active participation in daily pharmacy workflows.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Follow company standard operating procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Demonstrate empathy and care in all patient interactions, whether in person or over the phone.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by conducting cycle counts, managing returns, and organizing medication deliveries.
- Complete a structured training roadmap focused on key learning experiences and clinical development.
- Support patient health by offering immunizations and other services where permitted by law and supported by training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance to an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or active progress toward obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks for extended periods and pivot quickly between responsibilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using math to solve pharmacy-related problems, such as calculating dosages and day supplies.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks like lifting up to 20 lbs.
