About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic knowledge to real-world practice while preparing for a future role as a Pharmacist. Working under the direction of a preceptor, you will gain hands-on experience through a comprehensive training roadmap that includes Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) and exposure to store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams, ensuring accurate prescription fulfillment, and delivering high-quality patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs).
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth and efficient pharmacy operations.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all customer interactions, including at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, data privacy, and accurate recordkeeping.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, where allowable by law and supported by required training.
- Follow workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Maintain flexibility to assist with scheduling needs, including potential travel to other store locations within the market.
What you'll need#
- Must be accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required by the state.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Proficiency in using math to solve problems, such as determining the number of tablets to dispense or calculating supply amounts.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, and repetitive hand movements.
