About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by providing hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, answering questions, and resolving concerns.
- Provide additional health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law.
- Complete a training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences to build your clinical and technical aptitude.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, federal, state, and local regulations regarding patient privacy and controlled substance dispensing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention to detail to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market to meet business needs.
Location & details#
- Location: Gilbert, Arizona.
- This is a part-time, on-site position.
- The role is paid with a pay range of $21.25 to $25.00 per hour.
