About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations. This role focuses on supporting the pharmacy team, ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, and delivering high-quality patient care.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Follow established pharmacy workflow procedures for the safe and accurate fulfillment of prescriptions.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and providing caring service over the phone, at pick-up, and at the drive-thru.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences, to build clinical and operational aptitude.
- Provide additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law and supported by required training.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and safety.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required by the state.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention to detail to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market to meet business needs.
