Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy school learning into real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) and gain an overview of pharmacy operations. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience while supporting the pharmacy team in delivering safe and accurate patient care.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly and safely.
• Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to help manage and improve patient health.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
• Support immunizations, which includes obtaining Technician Immunizer status, educating patients, and documenting health information.
• Maintain focus and accuracy when confirming prescription information and labels to ensure patient safety.
• Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and processing medication deliveries.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess or be in the process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
• Ability to concentrate on specific tasks over extended periods.
• Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet evolving patient and business needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.

• Compensation: This is a paid position with a pay range of $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
• Schedule: Rolling term with requirements for regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
