About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic training to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gain exposure to pharmacy operations, and contribute to a safe and inclusive team environment. This role focuses on developing your clinical and technical skills while ensuring patients receive high-quality care.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy operations and ensure prescription fulfillment is prompt, safe, and accurate.
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures and pharmacy workflow protocols at workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service to patients, including resolving problems, answering questions, and offering immunizations.
- Assist with immunizations, including patient education, documentation, and monitoring, as permitted by law and training.
- Complete a training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences to build professional aptitude.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or progress toward, a valid intern and/or technician license.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Commitment to regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Strong communication, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
