Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic knowledge to real-world practice while preparing for a future Pharmacist role. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations and patient care. This role focuses on developing your clinical and technical skills through Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) and direct collaboration with pharmacy teams.

What you'll do#

• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately and safely.
• Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Maintain high levels of self-awareness and provide coaching to pharmacy team members.
• Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws regarding pharmacy operations.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures across all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and providing caring service.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Valid intern and/or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
