About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy operations, developing clinical skills, and preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap that includes key learning experiences and exposure to store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations through empathetic communication.
- Support immunizations and help patients navigate health queries.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and restocking, as permitted by law.
- Follow standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow protocols at all workstations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and helpful approach to team collaboration.
- Ability to complete all required training programs within the designated timeframe.
