About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy school learning into real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to ensure operations run smoothly while developing your clinical and technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, run smoothly and accurately.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including key learning experiences and activities, to build professional aptitude.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all customer and colleague interactions to contribute to a positive patient experience.
- Create personalized moments for patients and help them navigate their health care needs.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by required training.
- Follow company standard operating procedures to maintain safety, compliance, and patient privacy.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it as required.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention to detail to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Ability to maintain focus on tasks over extended periods.
- Capability to pivot between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
