About the role#
This Summer 2026 Pharmacy Intern position provides hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. The role involves completing a comprehensive training roadmap that covers store, district, and regional operations to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow standard operating procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care while creating personalized moments for patients.
- Deliver additional health care services, such as immunizations, where allowable by law and supported by training.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including key learning experiences and activities with district leaders.
- Field medical questions, take telephonic prescriptions, and clarify information with prescribers under pharmacist supervision.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance to an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods and maintain attention to detail for prescription accuracy.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Comfort with standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks like lifting up to 20 lbs.
