About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences, to gain a thorough understanding of retail pharmacy operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to deliver safe, accurate, and compassionate patient care.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following standard operating procedures at workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all patient interactions, whether in person or over the phone.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and participate in activities designed to build clinical and operational aptitude.
- Comply with all company policies, federal, state, and local laws to ensure patient safety and data privacy.
- Maintain focus and attention to detail while managing multiple tasks in a pharmacy environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong commitment to customer service and team orientation.
- Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail to ensure prescription accuracy.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights and weekends, and potential travel to other locations within the market.
