About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic knowledge to real-world practice while preparing for a future career as a Pharmacist. Under the guidance of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap that includes Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) and hands-on activities to gain an overview of pharmacy operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to ensure safe, accurate, and prompt prescription fulfillment while developing your professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap including KLEs and activities.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly.
- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to support pharmacists and technicians.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations or point-of-care testing, when allowable by law and supported by required training.
- Maintain pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and managing medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- Current acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it as required by state regulations.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Strong attention and focus, with the ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Mathematical proficiency to solve problems, such as calculating the number of tablets to dispense.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 20 lbs.
