About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist by immersing you in daily pharmacy workflows and store operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations and safe, accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures across workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service to patients, showing empathy and genuine care in all interactions.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and contact prescribers to clarify orders or facilitate medication changes.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away deliveries and performing cycle counts, as directed by pharmacy leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over time.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
