About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for a future role as a Pharmacist. Working under the direction of a preceptor, you will gain hands-on experience through a comprehensive training roadmap that provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient service while developing your clinical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap including Key Learning Experiences and activities.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly and safely.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all patient interactions, whether in person, at the drive-thru, or over the phone.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, company standard operating procedures, and ethical principles.
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive pharmacy environment while supporting patient safety and privacy.
- Perform tasks such as prescription fulfillment, inventory management, and patient communication under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Strong active listening skills to fully understand patient and colleague needs.
- Proficiency in using math to solve problems related to prescription fulfillment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
