About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining experience in pharmacy operations and patient care. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on key learning experiences.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, privacy, and security.
- Maintain focus and attention to detail while managing tasks and prescription accuracy.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong customer service skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Preferred: 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
