About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role focuses on gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations while preparing for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap that includes key learning experiences and work across various pharmacy workstations to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations run smoothly.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions.
- Support immunizations by educating patients about the importance of vaccines and assisting with administration where allowable by law.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and restocking, as permitted by law.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, including point-of-care testing, as allowable by law and supported by required training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- A customer service orientation, including a friendly demeanor and a willingness to help others.
