About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations through a combination of Key Learning Experiences and hands-on activities.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and providing caring service.
- Support immunizations and patient health care services, where allowable by law and supported by required training.
- Maintain high self-awareness and provide in-the-moment coaching to pharmacy team members.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures across workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Perform basic inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and managing medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern and/or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus, including the ability to concentrate on tasks over time.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
