About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences, to gain hands-on experience in pharmacy operations. This role focuses on supporting the pharmacy team to ensure safe, accurate, and prompt prescription fulfillment while developing your clinical and technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Follow established pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within the designated timeframe.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining such licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to concentrate on specific tasks over extended periods.
- Proficiency in using mathematical reasoning to solve problems, such as calculating prescription dosages and supplies.
- Ability to complete all required training programs within the specified timeframe.
