About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations and patient care. This role focuses on professional development within a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap that includes Key Learning Experiences and activities.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Support patient health services, such as immunizations, where allowable by law and supported by required training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or active progress toward obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Proficiency in using math to solve problems, such as calculating prescription dosages and supplies.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a focus on patient safety.
