About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. This role is designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist position. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation to deepen your knowledge of pharmacy operations, patient safety, and quality assurance. You will work under the direction of your preceptor and District Leader while gaining hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care to contribute to a safe and inclusive culture.
- Support patient health by offering immunizations and other services, where permitted by law and supported by training.
- Maintain high levels of self-awareness and provide in-the-moment coaching to team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries and cycle counts.
- Communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes as allowed by state regulation.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe per state guidelines.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to remain mobile, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks such as typing or reaching.
