About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining experience in store and district operations. This role focuses on helping pharmacy teams deliver safe, accurate, and prompt service to patients.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries and performing cycle counts.
- Support immunizations by educating patients and monitoring for adverse reactions where permissible.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes where allowed by law.
What you'll need#
- Must be accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Must possess or be in the process of obtaining valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market as needed.
