About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice to prepare for a career as a Pharmacist. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to provide hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to deliver safe and accurate patient care while developing professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Support the safety and effectiveness of pharmacy operations by following standard operating procedures at all workstations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, providing compassionate care, and solving patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stock.
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
- Maintain flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market as needed to meet business requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or active progress toward obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong focus and the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet evolving patient and business needs.
