About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to provide hands-on experience in pharmacy operations. This role focuses on developing your professional skills in preparation for a future Pharmacist position while supporting the pharmacy team in delivering safe and accurate patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences and activities.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including prescription fulfillment at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all patient and colleague interactions.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and relevant laws to ensure patient safety, privacy, and accurate recordkeeping.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, as allowed by law and supported by training.
- Maintain inventory activities, such as cycle counts and returns-to-stock, as directed by pharmacy leadership.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or active progress toward obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Ability to pivot quickly between multiple tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel to other store locations within the market as needed.
