Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice in preparation for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This program focuses on deepening your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, solving patient problems, and providing caring service.
• Take on increasing accountability for pharmacy management and oversight as your tenure and readiness grow.
• Deliver patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification.
• Maintain high levels of self-awareness while providing coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
• Complete inventory activities, including cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and processing medication deliveries.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
• Ability to perform essential functions, including regular attendance, mathematical reasoning for prescription dispensing, and clear verbal and written communication.
• Ability to meet physical demands, such as remaining mobile for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, and performing repetitive tasks.
