Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy education to real-world practice to prepare for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of your preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on deepening your understanding of patient safety, quality assurance, drug utilization review, and pharmacy professional standards. You will operate as part of the pharmacy team, following Standard Operating Procedures to ensure operations run smoothly and safely.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Demonstrate empathy and genuine care to contribute to a safe and inclusive culture.
• Create personalized experiences for patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, and drop-off.
• Support management and operations by following company policies and assisting with inventory activities.
• When permitted by law, offer counseling, field medical questions, and take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
• Deliver additional health services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within state-mandated timeframes.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
• Proficiency in maintaining attention and focus while pivoting between tasks to meet patient needs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 20 lbs.
